Hours:
Sunday: 11:00am-5:00pm (last entry 4:30pm); Monday through Wednesday: 9:30am-4:30pm (last entry 4:00pm); Thursday: 9:30am-8:00pm (last entry 7:30pm); Friday: 10:00am-3:00pm (last entry 2:30pm).
Style:
2 out of 10 on the Paranoid Scale. In theory you may simply show up, but you’re “encouraged” to reserve in advance; a good idea, considering that Jewish institutions are known to get nervous about people showing up unannounced. Still, and apart from the obligatory metal detector, the staff is pleasant and relaxed—nothing like the paranoid attitude you get, say, at the 92nd Street Y.
