A-hoy the Upper East Side, where Captain Kidd, the meanest fee-bootin’ pirate ever cruised the boroughs, set his sights on 38 acres of choice real estate, in the vicinity of what is now East 73rd Street, circa 1692, a landlubber if th’ever was.

Eau! Eau! Eau!

(Kidd soon discovered he’d over-extended himself on the mortgage, and had to take up pirating again to cover himself, with unfortunate consequences.)
