So this Jewish student from a small town in the Midwest is home from Columbia University. To his surprise, the wealthy Baptists on the other side of town invite him for dinner.
No sooner have they sat down than the hosts start up:
“I hear the situation is terrible for you people there...
-Actually, we argue about a lot of things in College, but everybody's respectful of others' feelings.
- Well, aren't there lots of Muslims in New York?
- Sure, but they mind their business and I mind mine.
- What about anti-Semitic slurs and threats?
- To be honest, I haven't heard any since I left high-school here.”
“But when all is said and done," he adds, “I feel I've done my part for inclusiveness and acceptance. Because the next time they're going to invite two Jews in case the first one doesn't work out.”
